
Big Cottonwood Canyon Classic
Join us at Brighton and Solitude Resorts for a thrilling 15K or 5K run through the scenic trails of BCC! Lace up your shoes and get ready to conquer the challenging and rewarding course. You will start at the Crest Lift at an elevation of roughly 8,500 feet and climb just below 10,000 in Solitude’s Honeycomb Canyon. Whether you're a seasoned trail runner or a newbie looking for a fun challenge, this event is perfect for all levels of experience. Go at your own pace and run with a squad or set a personal record!

the 15K route
The 15K race starts at Molly Greens at Brighton Ski Resort (elevation 8, 755). The course is fully marked with trail flagging and volunteers! It will then cross the parking lot to Milly Chalet and take the access road up to Twin Lakes. From there you traverse below the dam and hope on SolBright and down canyon into Solitude. The trail drops you off at Moonbeam, Entry 1. Stay on the marked trail and head east to the Honeycomb Return Road at mile 4.7 turn onto the honeycomb return trail and continue to the top on Honeycomb Canyon (elevation 10,488). From there go down Summit Road and turn right to go to Brighton, pass below the dam for a second time. Continue up the road on the left side of Twin Lakes and a hard left onto the trail that will traverse across the mountain and end at Lake Mary. From there take the Catherine’s Pass trail down to the finish line at Molly Greens.
The 5K race starts at Molly Greens at Brighton Ski Resort (elevation 8, 755). The course is fully marked with trail flagging and volunteers and it is not an easy 5K, there is a lot of elevation gain and rocky trail! It will then cross the parking lot to Milly Chalet and take the access road up to Twin Lakes. When you get to the base of the dam, volunteers will direct you to continue on the road up and to take a left above the dam. From there you traverse below Mount Milly to Lake Mary. From there it is all downhill to the finish line!!!
